This policy aims to provide adequate medical insurance even after the initial sum insured is exhausted. It restores the sum insured if exhausted by a family member’s claim. The reinstated sum can be used subject to certain conditions.
Being a sum insured reinstatement policy, though available to individuals, it is more beneficial as a family floater cover. Even if an elderly insured member avails the sum insured, other members will not be deprived of insurance benefit, in the hour of need. It can cover up to six family members in a single policy.
The policy covers unforeseen hospitalisation expenses along with the incidental expenses like ambulance cost, organ donor hospitalisation, etc. It also covers domiciliary hospitalisation and second opinion. Also, the policy reinstates the sum insured, if depleted in a policy year. The restored sum insured, however, cannot be utilized for treatment of illness(es) for which the claim was made in the policy year.
